Project Mobility 4 x 4 & Bowler

On Wednesday 7th September,I got involved with an organisation called Project Mobility 4x4
http://www.projectmobility4x4.org/. They work with men and women from a variety of backgrounds, Military and Civilian. Their common thread is that they have suffered amputations, and allows them to get involved in the whole spectrum of Rallying, from driving, maintenance, team management. They were seen on Top Gear a few weeks ago.
They are in their relative infancy, but are really making great speed, and with more publicity and backing, this cause will be soon one of the better known organisations.

It was a real privilege to meet Sally the Founder, and Nathan and Gavin, who are two of the men involved in a more direct way.
Nathan and Gavin are both Soldiers who were in IED strikes and are double amputees. Gavin runs the support team, and is from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Nathan is in the Grenadier Guards, and is one of the drivers/co-drivers, driving with a specially adapted controls.
The shoot also involved Bowler http://www.bowler-offroad.com/ who are a specialist offroad vehicle specialists.
They are providing a vehicle, the Nemesis EXR to Project Mobility.
The future plans of Project Mobility include the Dakar Rally, more UK Rallying, and developing an Academy, to train for maintaining and driving.

A phenomenal cause, a brilliant bunch of people.
